Did You Know you can organize the proofing page of variable parts with Proofing Tabs?
Some variable parts are more complex than others. For those complex parts with many variables of different types, there is now a way to organize the variables to make the proofing process simpler and easier.
With Proofing Tabs, you can set up personalized products so the variables are divided into tabs that users can switch between when proofing.
Benefits to the Client
- Use variable groups, columns, and tabs to organize a soft proof project.
- Lead users to fill out proofing forms in an order that makes sense for the product.
- Divide the proofing page into groups and tabs to make it easier to proof products with many variables.
How It Works
Proofing Tabs are set up in the soft proof project for a part. Go to Proofing / Soft Proof Projects / Select a Soft Proof Project.
Proofing Tabs are created by adding groups of variables to tabs. If the soft proof project you’re working with hasn’t already been given a form layout. Do the following:
- Click Build Form Layout.
- Use the Add New Group button to create groups, or categories, of variables.
- Proofing pages can be divided into up to three columns. You can drag the groups you create to whichever column you’d like.
- Drag variables from the Unassigned Variables column to one of the groups.
- Variables left in the Unassigned Variables column will not appear on the proofing page.
Now, with the variables divided into groups, you can create Proofing Tabs:
- Click Build Tab Layout.
- Use the Add New Tab button to create tabs.
- Drag groups from the Unassigned Groups column to one of the tabs.
- Groups left in the Unassigned Variables column will not appear on the proofing page.
