Did You Know you can add Tool Tips to variables on customizable parts?
We have a concept in Propago of something called Tool Tips. Tool Tips are small question mark icons next to settings and options within the system that you can hover over to see a short explanation of what the setting does. We use these Tool Tips to make it easier for you to navigate the system and remind you of what various options in the back end are for.
You can also add Tool Tips to soft proofing projects in order to give end users the same kind of helpful explanatory text when they are personalizing their items. With this feature, your clients can specify the purpose of certain customizable areas of their products. For example, maybe a client wants to let their users know that by default the email field on this business card will pull from their user profile but that they can alter it if they wish. Or maybe they want to indicate to the user that when they upload their own image to be printed on a promo item the colors might not translate exactly as pictured during proofing.
Benefits to the Client
- Use the Tool Tip feature on soft proofing projects.
- Add helpful text to variables on parts that the user can see while proofing.
- Add extra information next to variables without taking up space on the proofing screen.
How It Works
To add a Tool Tip to a variable on a part, go to that part’s soft proofing project page in the back end. Each variable in the soft proofing project has a section in the Name column called Tooltip. Enter the text you want in that field and save the project. This can be done for any type of variable.
