Did You Know additional files can be attached to both parts and orders?

Let’s take a look at two features that allow additional files and images to be added to parts and orders.   

You can attach files to a part to help give end users extra information about the product. Users can attach files to an order during the checkout process to deliver important notes or specifications that can help with the production and fulfillment of the order.

Benefits to the Client

  • Add additional images to a part, such as a promo item, to show details or different angles.
  • Attach a PDF to a part that end users can see thumbnails of and download.
  • Let end users give additional information about their orders via file attachments and access those files on the portal

  • Allow users to attach useful information or specifications regarding their orders to the order details.
  • Attach a PDF to a part that gives the user more detailed information without taking up space in the description of the product.

How It Works

To add additional files to a part, go to the part’s details page in the back end. On the right hand side, beneath the other part images, you’ll find the Additional Images option. Use the Select Files button to browse your machine and upload files. If more than one file is uploaded you can rearrange the order that the files/images will appear. You can upload files up to 20mb.

On the front end, users will be able to see additional files attached to a part by clicking a part and viewing its details. PDF files will show as thumbnails and can be downloaded by the user.

End users can add files to their order during the checkout process. The option is found in the Order Information section on the Shipping and Billing page. By clicking the Select Files button next to Additional Files, a user can browse their machine and upload files. Once the order is placed, these additional files can be accessed in three places:

  • Front End Order Details: Admin > Orders > Select Order
  • Front End Approvals: Account > Pending Approvals > Select Order
  • Back End Order Details: Orders > Search > Select Order
