Did You Know you can use Data Redaction to regularly redact addresses from the site?

With the new Data Redaction feature, you can have the system regularly redact address information from the back end and front end of your site.

You can configure how often the system will redact this data, whether it applies to just international addresses or all addresses, and whether it redacts shipping addresses, billing addresses, or both.

What this redaction process does is remove the redacted addresses from the list of previously used addresses on the front end and remove the address information across your site’s order history.

Benefits to You

  • Handle privacy compliance automatically by regularly redacting all or just international address information from the site.

How It Works

Data Redaction is a customer-level setting. To turn on Data Redaction, go to a customer’s page in the back end.

  1. Go to Portals / Select a Customer / Settings
  2. Find the Data Redaction section near the bottom of the page.
  3. Change Enable Data Redaction to “Yes”.
  4. Use the “Days to redact after” dropdown to choose how often the address data will be redacted.
  5. Use the “Fields To Redact” selection to choose whether to redact shipping addresses, billing addresses, or both.
  6. Change the “International Addresses Only” option to “Yes” to only redact international address information.

Note: Redacted addresses will still show zip code and state information on order information pages.
