Did you know Part Description can now be added to the Inventory Management page and Inventory Receipt reports?

Building upon our previous enhancements to inventory management and reporting capabilities, we have added Part Description as an optional column to the following places:
- Part Description in Buyer Group: Inventory Receipt Custom Email: With Propago’s Custom Emails module, you can utilize various tags to shape the content of system emails. We’ve now added the Part Description tag to the Buyer Group: Inventory Receipt Report Custom Email options. This enhancement enables you to include detailed part descriptions in your automated inventory receipt notifications, ensuring recipients have comprehensive information at a glance.
- Part Description Column in Front-End Inventory Management Page: Understanding the importance of detailed inventory views, we’ve added Part Description as an available column in the front-end Inventory Management Page. This addition allows users to view descriptions directly within the inventory interface, expanding the versatility and usability of this front-end management page.
These enhancements complement our recent efforts to integrate Part Descriptions throughout the Propago platform:
- Add to Cart Pop-Up Modals: A new display option,
Checkout.PartDescription
, allows product descriptions to appear in the pop-up modal when users add items to their cart. This provides immediate context without requiring additional clicks. - Order Details Pages: With the
OrderDetail.PartDescription
display option, product descriptions can now be shown inline with each product in order details pages. This aids approvers and users in quickly understanding the specifics of each item in an order.

How It Works
1. Add Part Description to Buyer Group: Inventory Receipt Report Custom Emails
- Navigate to the Custom Emails page by going to System > Site > Custom Emails.
- Click Add Email.
- In the Email Type dropdown, find and select Buyer Group: Inventory Receipt Report.
- In the list of available tags, click the arrow next to {{InventoryReceiptList}} to expand the full list of part information tags.
- You can see {{PartDescription}} listed as an optional tag. Use this tag when customizing the email HTML.
- Click Create (or Update if you are changing a previously created custom email).

2. Add Part Description as a Column in the Inventory Management Page
- On the front-end, go to Admin > Inventory Management.
- Click the three dots next to the label for any column to view the column customization options.
- Find and check the box for Part Description in the list of available columns.
- The grid will refresh and display the Part Description column for all inventory items.
