Did You Know there is a new optional Tax ID field for international orders?

We have added an optional field for users to input a Tax ID number when placing an order to a shipping address outside of the U.S. 

This field only shows during checkout when the shipping address is outside of the U.S. This gives users a field to submit tax identification information if necessary for the fulfillment of an international order.

NOTE: This field can be hidden completely, even when users select an address outside of the U.S., in the Display Options of a portal. Just move the Checkout.TaxId display option to the Currently Hidden list. See this Did You Know about Display Options. 

Benefits to You

• Provides a standardized field for collecting and recording tax identification information for international order fulfillment. 
• Tax ID field is hidden by default and only appears when the shipping address is outside of the U.S.
• The Tax ID of an international order can be found on the Order Maintenance page. 

How It Works 

When checking out, if the user chooses a country other than United States from the Country dropdown then the Tax ID field will appear below the Phone Number field as shown below.

This field can be found in the back end by going to maintenance page for the order. Go to Orders / Search / Select an Order. The Tax ID can be found next to the phone number in the Shipping Detail section.
