Did You Know front-end admins can give non-admin users access to Dashboards?

The front-end Dashboards feature has been expanded with a version for non-admin portal users. This new version of Dashboards has been designed to make sense for end users and can be controlled by front end admins to limit data access.

Front-end admins can give Dashboard access to specific users and user groups and also have the ability to lock down these shared Dashboard views. Admins can lock the shared Dashboards to only show data from the user, the user’s user group, the user’s buyer group, or a specific commodity code.

Non-admin Dashboards have an Overview page and a Products page. The Products page includes filters similar to the admin Dashboards so that end users can drill down and see data they are interested in.

Benefits to the Client

  • Share Dashboards with non-admin portal users.
  • Give end users the ability to view data from their portal.
  • Lock down shared Dashboards by user group, user, buyer group, or commodity code.

How It Works

Front-end admins can share Dashboards access with non-admins by doing the following:

  1. Go to Admin / Dashboards.
  2. Click the Share button next to the Overview and Product page buttons.
  3. Click Add Users/User Groups.
  4. Give the shared Dashboard a name and add users and/or user groups who you want to give access.
  5. Optionally, use the filter section to limit data access.
    • The Overview page can be locked to only show:
      • Data from the user’s user group.
      • Data from the user.
    • The Products page can be locked to only show;
      • Data from the user’s buyer group(s).
      • Data from a specific Commodity Code.
  6. When done setting up, click Share Dashboards.

From this same window Admins can see their shared Dashboards, add or remove users and/or user groups from shared Dashboards, and edit the filter settings.
