Did You Know Customer Price Lists can be used to assign prices on the User Group level?

Price lists are a robust tool for assigning prices to parts. You can use standard price lists to assign prices to multiple parts and update the prices of all assigned parts on the fly. Also, you can create customer-level price lists that can be assigned to user groups.

There is a distinction that’s worth pointing out between what these different types of price lists mean and what they do. Standard price lists are defined prices and price breaks which can be assigned to multiple parts. When the standard price list is updated, so are the prices of all the parts.

Then there are customer-level price lists which you’ll see listed when you go into a specific part to update its price directly. These price lists are more like price categories that can be assigned to user groups.

This can be useful in situations where a customer has users that receive special pricing, such as corporate users.

Benefits to the Client

  • Assign customer-level price lists on the user group level.
  • Define prices per part on each price list to control user group prices.

How It Works

To create a customer-level price list, go to a customer’s details page and click on the Price List tab. Portals > Select Customer > Price List

  • Click Add Price List.
  • Give the price list a name.
  • Setting the price list to default means that price list will be used in conjunction with standard price lists and will be the price list assigned to user groups by default. You can only have one default price list at a time.
  • Click Save.

To assign a customer-level price list to a user group, go to a user group’s basic information page.

Use the dropdown labeled “Price List” to select which price list to assign.

Now, you can update the prices in the new price list per part to control what prices this user group will see.
