Did You Know Regular Kits now support component arrangement (Left, Right, or Other) control?

propago print marketing solution

This enhancement brings the kit component arrangement feature that was introduced with Pocket Folders to Regular (static) Kits.

You now have the option to specify the arrangement of individual components within a Regular Kit as “Left,” “Right,” or “Other.” This information will be included in the kit instructions that the warehouse team sees on the picksheet, making it easier to ensure accurate and consistent packing for every order.

Notes about this update to Regular Kits:

  • This enhancement is optional. If you don’t set a placement, nothing changes—components will remain listed as “Other.”
  • The end-user ordering experience remains the same: Regular Kits are static, pre-defined items, so customers still add them to their carts as usual. There is no option for end users to customize component placement when ordering, unlike the Pocket Folder Kit type (see our Pocket Folder Kit article).
  • The location information is not displayed on the storefront or during order placement, but front end admin users can view and update the component arrangement under Admin / Parts in the Part Maintenance page.

Benefits to You

  • Give warehouse teams clearer assembly instructions
  • Ensure kits are packed consistently to your specifications
  • Support fulfillment of kits where component placement matters (for example, when presentation or usability is important)

How It Works

  • This new placement option is available during Part Kit setup.
  • You can choose to assign a location—Left, Right, or Other—for each kit component, or simply leave all items as “Other” (the default setting).
  • The specified arrangement appears only in the picking instructions, helping warehouse teams assemble kits with precise component placement.
