New buyer group report option: Inventory Received

We have introduced a new type of buyer group report that will alert users whenever a product within their buyer group is received into the warehouse. Keep your buyer groups up to date not just when products are going out of stock but also when those products are restocked.

Note: Inventory Received reports are only compatible with the “Near Real Time” report frequency, not Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly.

This report option enables you to keep buyer group members more tightly in the loop about the products they are watching throughout their inventory cycles. These Inventory Received reports include the SKU, the product name, the quantity that were received, and the transaction time and date.

Benefits to the Client

  • Give users near real time updates whenever one of their buyer group SKUs receives more inventory.
  • Send email notifications of new inventory receipts for either select products or all parts on the portal.
  • Create buyer groups solely for inventory receipt alerts or in addition to backorder and minimum quantity alerts.

How It Works

To set up a buyer group to get Inventory Received notifications:

  1. In the back end, go to Portals / Select a Customer / Buyer Groups.
  2. Either create a new buyer group or select an existing one.
    1. You can create a new buyer group by clicking “Add”, giving the buyer group a name, then clicking “Save”.
    2. Note: To use the Inventory Received option, the buyer group must have the “Near Real Time” frequency type.
  3. Go to the Email Report Setup tab.
  4. Make sure “Select Report Frequency” is set to “Near Real Time”.
  5. In the “Select Reports” section, check the option called “Inventory Received”.
  6. Click “Save”.

Now whenever a product in this buyer group is received into the warehouse, the users in the group will get an email notifying them of the inventory receipt. The “Near Real Time” report frequency runs hourly.
