Did You Know you can share DAM assets to Facebook?
The feature that allows users to turn storefronts products into Facebook posts can now be used on digital assets in the portal’s DAM.
This ability is turned off by default but can be enabled with a new setting on the Access Group Details page. Enabling Facebook posting for DAM files is done per DAM folder, not via a portal-level setting.
Both images and videos can be posted to Facebook via the DAM. Just like the standard Post to Facebook feature, the user must log in to Facebook and choose a Facebook page they have access to in order to make a Facebook post. See the following for more about Facebook Posting.
Benefits to the Client
- Create Facebook posts using digital assets hosted on the portal.
- Ability to post videos and other media on the portal to Facebook with ease.
- Schedule posts of digital assets to be posted in the future with the scheduling function and view scheduled posts in the Facebook Queue.
How It Works
To enable users to create posts from digital assets on their portal, first, ensure that the standard Facebook Posting feature is turned on:
- In the back end, go to Portals / Select a Customer / Settings.
- In the User Experience section, set the “Allow Facebook Posting” setting to “Yes”.
- If you wish to enable users to write their own captions for Facebook posts created on the portal, set the setting called “Allow Facebook Caption” to “Yes”.
- Note: For Digital Assets, the asset description will be the default caption for Facebook posts.
Enabling Facebook Posting for digital assets is done per the DAM folder on the front end:
- Go to Admin / Digital Asset / Access Group Details.
- Click on a DAM folder to open its settings.
- Set the setting called “Facebook Posting” to “Yes”.
- Click “Save Access Group” in the top right corner of the page.
There are two options for how to share a digital asset with Facebook:
- Click the Facebook “F” icon underneath the thumbnail.
- Click Add to Cart and then the “Post to Facebook” button next to “Continue”.
