Did You Know the Data Redaction feature now includes an option to redact files associated with orders?
Data Redaction is a portal feature that can be used to automatically redact address information from order history. This feature has been expanded with a setting called Redact Files.
With Redact Files turned on, when an order reaches its Days to Redact After date, the system will redact any files associated with the order. This includes uploaded artwork files, mailing lists, personalization proofs, etc.
In addition, this setting will disable the ability to re-order an order once it is redacted.
Redact Files runs automatically at the pace set by the Days to Redact After setting, meaning, if set to 30, files will be redacted 30 days after they are ordered.
Essentially, Redact Files makes access to order files time-sensitive. This means that, for example, the My Library page will only show previously ordered proofs from the past (3,7,30,90) days.
Benefits to the Client
- Expands the Data Redaction feature, adding files such as uploaded artwork and personalization files to what gets redacted from the system.
- Add an additional layer of data security by automatically redacting files after a set timeframe.
- Prevent re-ordering of orders after a set timeframe.
How It Works
Redact Files is off by default and can be turned on in the back end:
- Go to Portals / Select a Customer / Settings.
- Scroll down to the Data Redaction section.
- Set Redact Files to “Yes”.
Note: Redact Files requires Data Redaction to be turned on to take effect. This means the Data Redaction setting must be set to “Yes” and an option must be selected in the Days to Redact After dropdown.
