Did You Know you can set Filters to be collapsed by default on the search and browse pages?

web print marketing portal

We have added an auto-collapse function to Filters. When turned on, a filter’s options will be hidden until the end user chooses to click the filter open.

Auto-collapse can be turned on or off per filter, meaning you can have some filters that are always expanded and some that are collapsed until needed.

This feature applies to both the category browse pages and the search results page.

Filters are a flexible tool to make it easier for end users to find what they are looking for. Users can select filter options on both browse pages and the search page to narrow results. Learn more about Filters:

Benefits to the Client

  • Improve user experience by decluttering the browse and search pages.
  • Set storefront filters to collapse so users can expand filters as needed.
  • Set some filters to collapse and others to remain expanded to further control the user experience.

How It Works

To set a filter to be collapsed by default (auto-collapse on), go to the Filters page and switch Collapsed to On:

  1. In the back end, go to Portals / Select a Customer / Filters.
  2. There is a column called “Collapsed”. Switch this setting to On for any filter you want to be collapsed by default on the storefront.
  3. This option can also be turned on when creating a new filter by checking the “Collapsed” box in the Create Filter pop-up.

On the storefront, users can expand collapsed filters by clicking the plus icon next to the filter’s name.
