Did You Know you can lock proof names for personalized products so end users can’t edit them?

propago software marketing portal

Proof Names can be used to associate meaningful identifying information with individual proofs made by end-users. These names travel with the order line through the order workflow.

On a soft proof project, you can designate which variables will be used to create the Proof Name.

Through a portal-level setting, you also have the ability to lock down the Proof Name so that the end-user can’t overwrite or edit it. This ability can be useful in circumstances where a producer has integrated with an outside system and wants to be able to send Proof Name information over in a consistent and expected format.

Benefits to You

  • Control what variables will pre-populate the Proof Name field.
  • Lock down the Proof Name field to keep Proof Names consistent.

How It Works

You can lock down the Proof Name field on the portal level by going to the Portals / Select a Custom / Settings. The Proof Name lock setting is found in the Soft Proofing & Mailing section. Set this option to Locked to prevent users from editing Proof Names.
