Did You Know you can use Auto Flip Over SKU to replace one part with another when the first is no longer available?

web to print marketing portals

Auto Flip Over SKU is a new part-level option for creating a secondary part that will replace the primary part when it expires or runs out of stock.

For example, you can create a part for a limited-run promotional item called Part A. This part will be active and available on the storefront. Then you can create a Part B for a different version of the same product that isn’t limited. Part B will be left inactive. You can use Auto Flip Over SKU to link Part B to Part A. When Part A’s quantity hits 0 or it expires, it will automatically be deactivated, and Part B will be set to active.

Benefits to You

  • Create part replacement linkages that trigger automatically when a part is no longer available.
  • Quantity hitting 0 and the part reaching the set expiration date will both trigger the part to deactivate and its linked part to activate.

How It Works

To use Auto Flip Over SKU, first, you will need to create the secondary part that will replace the primary part:

  • Make sure this second part is inactive. This can be done on the part’s page by changing its status or on the part search page by selecting the part and clicking the deactivate button.
  • Go to the primary part’s details page.
  • Go to the Workflow Options section.
  • Click the pencil icon next to the Auto Flip Over SKU field.
  • Search for and select the secondary part.
  • Click Select Part.
  • Click Save.

Now, when this part either expires or hits a quantity available of 0 it will automatically deactivate this part and activate the part you have selected.
