Did You Know you can set all orders for a User Group to default as Firmed instead of Released?

A firmed order status is a trigger to stop orders before they flow into production to be processed. The Firmed status can be used to edit orders or review them before releasing them to production.

You can control whether the default order status per user group is Release or Firmed. Setting the default status to Firmed means all orders made by this user group will need to be manually released in order to continue to the production/fulfillment flows.

This ability can be useful when initially setting up a storefront to allow users to test the site before they go live. All submitted orders can be canceled and this gives the client a means to truly test their portal without sending any orders to production.

Benefits to You

  • Make new user group or new portal testing easier by having orders automatically come in Firmed instead of Released.
  • Set up a user group that defaults orders as Firmed so all their orders can be reviewed and easily cancelled if need be.

How It Works

To change a user group’s default order status:

  • Go to Portals / Select a Customer / User Groups / Select a User Group / Settings.
  • In the Order Settings section, find the Default Order Status option.
  • Use the dropdown to set the default order status to Firmed or Released.
  • Click Save.
