Did You Know you can create promo codes that can be applied at checkout?

propago screen stock front end

Promotions allow you to create re-useable promo codes that end users can apply towards their orders. You can specify who can use the promotion, which parts it can be used on, max dollar amounts per use, and more.

There are 4 types of promo codes you can create:

$PromoCode: Take off a defined dollar amount off the order.

%PromoCode: Take a percentage off the order.

$ShipPromoCode: Take off a defined dollar amount off the shipping cost

%ShipPromoCode: Take a percentage off the shipping cost.

Benefits to the Customer

  • Encourage users to put in orders for specific parts by offering a promo code.
  • Give users a temporary promo code to encourage getting orders in a specific time frame.
  • Giver users free or reduced shipping on certain items or within a time frame.

How It Works

To create a promo code:

  1. In the back end, go to Part / Promotions.
  2. Click Add Promotion.
  3. Input the PromoCode name. Ex: %10Off
  4. Select the Promotion Type.
  5. Input the Discount Value.
  6. Check whether to include Shipping and / or Fulfillment Charges.
  7. Input the Promotion Name and Promotion End Date.
  8. Input the Max Discount Allowed.
  9. Input the Minimum Order Amount.
  10. Click Save.

In the promotion’s details you’ll need to link the promotion in order for it to be used. Use the Link Customers, Link Users, and Link User Groups tabs to specify which users can utilize this promo code. For example, if you link a customer all users of that customer will be able to use it. If you link a user group, only users in that group will be able to use it.

IMPORTANT: In order for a user group to use promotions, you need to turn on promo codes in that user groups settings. Go to Portals / Select Customer / User Groups / Select User Group / Settings and change the Allow Promo Codes setting to “Yes”.

A few additional notes on Promotions:

  • If you choose “Yes” for the setting “Is valid for all products?” then the code will work on all orders. If you choose “No” then you’ll need to click into the promotions details and specify which parts it will work on.
  • If a non-Ship Promo Code is selected and “Includes Shipping Cost” is checked, then this means the discount will apply to the order total plus the shipping cost.
  • If “Includes Fulfillment Charges” is checked and there are fulfillment charges set on the customer level, then discount will also apply to Fulfillment Charges as well.
  • Within the promotions details you can set the promotion to auto-trigger (automatically apply) and you can specify the start and end date for the promotion to be active.
