Major Feature: Producing Partners

marketing portal web print

With Producing Partners, you can connect two Propago sites and link parts across the two sites. This means when someone places an order for parts made by the partner, the order lines with those linked parts are automatically routed to the partner’s site to be produced and fulfilled.

When you connect a part to a Producing Partner you can see their inventory of that part, available and on-hand. When an order gets created that includes a linked part, the order will appear on both your site and the Producing Partner, but the partner will only see the order lines that are theirs to produce and fulfill.

Once the partner has produced and fulfilled their part of the order, they’ll no longer be able to see the details of the order. And once all the order lines are fulfilled, the order will close.

Benefits of Producing Partners

With Producing Partners, you can seamlessly offer products made by other producers who use Propago. This can be useful in several scenarios, including:

  • You work with another producer who makes Widget A and that producer is also a Propago client.
  • You have multiple warehouses and you want to divide the management of different portals across multiple sites.
  • You have a subsidiary producer that makes Widget A and B that you offer on your portals, but the subsidiary producer also has its own portal customers and Propago site.

How It Works

To connect to a Producing Partner, go to System / Producing Partners.

  • Click Add Producing Partner.
  • Enter the unique identifier for the Propago site you want to connect to. (Reach out to Propago to retrieve this identifier.)
  • Click Validate.

Then, you can create and link parts to the Producing Partner.

  • Go to the part’s details page. Part / Parts.
  • Find the Producing Partner setting in the Workflow Options sections.
  • Click the pencil icon. You’ll get a warning that changing the Producing Partner will reset this part’s inventory to 0.
  • Click confirm and select the Producing Partner.

Now whenever that part is ordered, the order line will route to the Producing Partner. You can see in the order details when there is a part that is produced by a partner and the status of this order line.
