Did You Know a new option in Public Offers enables you to generate and manage Private Codes?

New Setting: Private Codes for Public Offers
Public Offers already let you share an Offer with anyone who has the link. But sometimes you need to gate access a little tighter—without forcing every shopper to create a portal login. Private Codes give you the perfect middle ground: a lightweight pass‑code system that lets you auto-generate batches of unique codes that can be distributed, given an expiration date, activated and deactivated as needed.
Benefits to the Client
- Targeted distribution – Hand out codes to a specific list of people (event attendees, VIP prospects, employees, etc.) while keeping the offer invisible to everyone else.
- No user accounts required – Recipients just enter their email + code; they never touch the portal’s login screen.
- Instant code generation – Bulk‑create thousands of codes in one click and export them to CSV for email, postcard, or any other marketing campaign.
How It Works
- Edit or create a Public Offer.
- In the back end, navigate to Part / Offers. Select an Offer to edit or click Add to create a new Offer.
- To enable public access, set Make Public to Yes.
- In the Offer Information settings, set “Have a Private Code?” to Yes.
- Click Setup Private Codes.
- Click Generate Private Code Batch.
- Give the code batch a name.
- Enter the number of codes to generate in the Count field.
- Optionally, choose an expiration date for the batch. After the chosen date, the codes in the generated batch will no longer be valid.
- Click Generate and you will see the newly generated batch aProducing Partnerear in the table.
- Click the batch name to view the codes.
- Download Codes (CSV) or copy them straight from the grid.
- You can also deactivate or reactivate codes from this view.
- Send each recipient their code and the Public Offer URL.
- When they visit the link, they’ll first see the standard email verification prompt.
- After entering their email, they will receive an email with a confirmation code.
- The next page will ask them for both the conformation code and their private code.
- After inputing the two codes, they will be given access to the Public Offer page.

If the Single-Use setting has been enabled for the Public Offer, before allowing an order to be placed, the system verifies:
- • The email hasn’t already used this Public Offer **AND**
- • The private code hasn’t been redeemed.
Orders placed with a private code flow through fulfillment exactly like any other Public Offer order—no extra setup needed.
