Did You Know the storefront search engine has a new Advanced Search function?

Finding the right product as an end user just got easier! With the new Advanced Search function, front-end users can perform highly specific and granular searches for both products and digital assets, giving them more options for how to narrow down their search results.

The new Advanced Search includes many of the options available in back-end Part Search, such as Vendor SKU, Commodity Code, and Manufacturer.

The full list of Advanced Search part field options is:

  • Keyword
  • SKU
  • Vendor SKU
  • Product
  • Description
  • Item Type
  • Manufacturer
  • Commodity Code
  • Plant
  • Form Number
  • Internal Part Number

In addition, Advanced Search includes three drop-down menus that can be used to filter image results when looking for digital assets. These options allow users to filter results by:

  • Image Type (ex. JPEG, PSD, EPS)
  • Minimum DPI
  • Maximum DPI

The Advanced Search options can be used in conjunction with choices made using the standard search parameters, filters, and keywords.

How It Works

Advanced Search is available to all front-end users and does not require a portal-level setting to turn on.

  1. Access the Advanced Search options by clicking the Advanced Search button found next to the Add Keyword button on the storefront search page.
  2. Use the search field options in the Advanced Search pop-up as needed to tailor your search.
  3. Click the “Search” button at the bottom of the Advanced Search pop-up to perform the search.
