Major Feature Announcement: Co-op Redemption Codes

We are excited to announce a new major addition to the Propago Platform: Co-op Redemption Codes!

Now, you and your clients can create redeemable Co-op Fund codes. Users can redeem these codes on the portal and add the pre-loaded amount to their Co-op Funds. This feature also works with Co-op Buckets so clients can optionally choose a Bucket for redeem codes to be applied to.

Co-op Redemption Codes is more than a simple code generator function. All Co-op Codes are created in batches. Front-end admins have the ability to create Co-op Code Batches via a new page on the portal. This page also lets users see all kinds of information about previously created Co-op Code Batches, including how many codes have been redeemed already, and when.

Use Co-op Redemption Codes to encourage engagement and orders by tapping in to the familiar excitement of redeeming online gift cards!

Additional Features of Co-op Redeem Codes:

  • Optionally set an expiration date for codes in a Co-op Code Batch.
  • Export redeem codes to an excel spreadsheet.
  • See how many codes are in a batch and how many have been redeemed.
  • See who has redeemed which codes and when.
  • Ability to manually force expire all the remaining unredeemed codes in a batch.

We are excited to see how you and your clients make use of this new addition to the Co-op Fund feature.

Benefits to the Client

  • Use Co-op Redemption Codes as a simple way to distribute Co-op Funds to users in batches.
  • Track Redemption Code usage see information about Co-op Code Batches at a glance.
  • Specify a Co-op Bucket for a Co-op Code Batch to have more control over how users can use Funds from Co-op Codes.

How It Works

Co-op Redemption Codes are a portal-level feature that is opt-in and can be turned on via the back-end portal settings:

  • Go to Portals / Select a Customer / Settings.
  • In the Price/Payment Settings section, find the option labeled Allow Co-op Redemption Codes.
  • Set to “Yes”.
  • Save.

Once the feature is turned on, Co-op Codes can be created and managed by users with front-end admin access. To do so:

  • Go to Admin / Setup / Co-op.
  • In the menubar, select Co-op Redemption Codes.

This is the management page for Co-op Redemption Codes. Here, you can see what Co-op Code Batches have been created, drill into the details of those batches, and generate new batches of codes.

To create a Co-op Code Batch:

  • Click Generate Co-op Code Batch.
  • Give the batch a name.
  • Optionally, specify a Co-op Bucket that the funds redeemed from this batch will be added to.
  • Use the Denomination field to specify how much you want each Co-op Code to be worth in this batch.
  • Enter how many Co-op Codes you want to create in this batch in the Count field.
  • Optionally, give the Co-op Codes in this batch an expiration date, after which they will no longer be redeemable.

After clicking Generate, the system automatically generates unique 9-digit serial numbers for the Co-op Code Batch. After the codes are generated, you will be able to export the list of codes to an Excel spreadsheet. Then, these codes can be distributed however you would like to portal users.

Users will see a new button labeled “Redeem Co-op Code” next to their Available Co-op Dollars when a portal has an active batch with unredeemed codes. Clicking that button will open a pop-up that will prompt the user to redeem a Co-op Code. If a valid, unexpired, and unredeemed code is entered, the designated amount of Co-op Funds will be added to their account.

The system will automatically keep track of which Co-op Codes have been redeemed, by which users, and when.

And that’s it! Co-op Redemption Codes give your clients a flexible new tool for dispensing Co-op funds and give you a new offering to engage users and encourage orders.
