Did You Know you can restrict users from editing their own account details?

Some clients need the option to restrict their users from editing their account detail information. This can be controlled per user group.

Benefits to the Client

  • User groups that are pre-loaded with user account information can be restricted from manually changing their account details.

How It Works   

To restrict users in a user group from editing their account details:

  • In the back end, go to Portals / Select a Customer / User Groups / Select a User Group.
  • On the Basic Information page, find the checkbox labeled Details in the Account Pages section.
  • Uncheck this box.
  • Click Save.
  • Every user in this user group will now not have access to their own account details page.

Note, some fields are not editable unless the user has administrative access.  These fields are their username, email notification settings, user group assignment, approving manager if applicable and any custom fields that may be set on the user level.
