Did You Know the Power Buyer option enables users to skip approval workflows?

Power Buyer is a user-level option that lets a user bypass approval flows and any part restrictions that are assigned to their user group. Orders placed by Power Buyer users will come in as released instead of pending approval regardless of what approval settings their user group has.

There are several use cases for the Power Buyer option. It can be used to let a user skip approvals just temporarily by turning the option on and then back off. Or you can use the Power Buyer option for users that do not need order restrictions but make the most sense to keep in a user group that does have approval workflows.

  • Allow a non-admin user to bypass approval workflows and part restrictions associated with their user group.
  • Save time by giving a user temporary Power Buyer status without having to change their user group.

How It Works

You can make a user a Power Buyer in the back end by doing the following:

  • Go to Portals / Select a Customer / Users / Select a User.
  • Find the Access Rights section on the Basic Information page.
  • Check the Power Buyer option.
  • Click Save.
