Did You Know you and your clients can use part comments to make notes about products?

Part-level comments give you and your clients a place to record notes about a specific product on that product’s details page.

There are two comment fields on the front-end part details page and one the back-end part details page. The first field is simply labeled “Comments” and this field is synced between the front-end and the back-end. So, any comments made here by a front-end admin will be seen on the back-end and vice versa.

The other field on the front-end is called “Admin Comments” and comments made here can only be seen on the front-end part details page.

Benefits to the Client

  • Add comments about a product that both front-end admins and back-end users can see and update.
  • Add comments in “Admin Comments” that aren’t necessary for back-end site users to see.

How It Works

To add part comments on the front-end:

  • Go to Admin / Parts.
  • Select a part.
  • Use the Comments field to add comments that can be seen on both the front and back-end.
  • Use the Admin Comments field at the bottom of the page to add comments that can only be seen on this page.

To add part comments on the back-end:

  • Go to Part / Parts.
  • Select a part.
  • Use the Comments field to add comments that can be seen on both the front and back-end.
