Did You Know you can import orders in bulk with Task Manager?
With Propago’s Task Manager, you can upload spreadsheets with order information to import orders in bulk for immediate processing.
This is a great time-saving tool for situations when a customer wants to push a pre-determined set of orders through the system all at once. The customer can bypass having end users manually place the orders on the front end.
Benefits to the Customer
- Bulk import many orders using a spreadsheet instead of manually entering each on the portal.
- All orders imported will be processed just as if they were put through the portal.
How It Works
Importing bulk orders through back end is done via the Task Manager. The first step is to set up an FTP folder.
- Ensure your FTP folder has the proper read and write permissions.
- Go to Tools/ Site Connectors.
- Click Add Connector.
- Input the FTP folder information, test the connections, and click Save Connector.
Next, you’ll set up the order import task in the Task Manager.
- Go to Tools / Task Manager
- Click Add New Task
- For Task Type, choose OrderImport and for the Connection, choose the FTP folder you created from the drop down.
- Give this task a name, select a customer, and choose a user to run the task as.
Mapping the Spreadsheet
- Create a clean Excel file with column headers for all order information.
- In the Task Manager, after you’ve input the task information, go to the Mapping tab and upload the template file.
- Map the columns in the template file to the order information columns.
- Then in the Settings tab, you can set up the interval to determine how often the system will check for new orders in your FTP folder.
- Send this template file to the customer so they can use it for all their orders that need to be imported.
Test the Order Import Task
- Drop an order import file to the FTP folder
- Allow the scheduled task to run.
- Check the status using the View Task Run Details button in the Task Manager.
- Go to the Order details to review the orders’ information.
The orders will flow into the system and be available for processing just as if they were submitted through the portal.
