Did You Know front end admins can approve or deny user registrations?
This portal-level setting, when turned on, will cause users to be flagged as “approval pending” when they register.
An email will be sent to all active front end admins. On the User page of the portal, front end admins can choose to approve or deny a user’s registration.
Benefits to the Client
- Control access to the portal.
- Receive automated emails when new users register.
- Use the portal to approve and deny user registration.
How It Works
To turn on the user registration approval setting, go to the customer’s detail page in the back end.
- Navigate to the Settings tab on the Customer Detail page and find the Storefront Access section near the bottom.
- First, make sure the Allow Self Registration settings is turned on.
- Then turn on the Self Register Requires Approval setting.
Now, when a new user registers, they will be flagged as “approval pending” and front end admins will be notified via email.
They can approve or deny user registration on the user list in the Admin section of the portal. Denying a user’s registration will set that user’s status to Inactive.
