Did You Know new carrier tags have been added for P.O. box and international orders?

back end warehouse management

Two optional tags have been added for use with carriers in Propago: Require Phone Number and P.O. Box Allowed.

If a carrier is set to not allow shipment to a P.O. box, when an end user is checking out and they input a P.O. box for their shipping address, the system won’t allow them to choose that carrier. Carriers with this tag will be greyed out and unselectable on the checkout screen. Hovering over those options will tell the user “This option does not deliver to P.O. boxes.”

If a carrier is set to require a phone number, the user will be prompted to enter a phone number upon selecting that carrier during checkout, unless a phone number has already been entered. They will not be able to place the order with that carrier until a phone number is given.

Benefits to You

  • Ensure phone numbers are provided for all international orders
  • Restrict users from attempting to ship to P.O. boxes with incompatible carriers
  • Add Require Phone Number and P.O. Box Allowed tags to any carrier in the system

How It Works

The Require Phone Number and P.O. Box Allowed tags can be turned on and off for each specific carrier listed in the back end.  Go to System > Carriers. Select a carrier to go to that carrier’s settings page. The Allow P.O. Box and Require Phone Number options are found at the bottom of the settings.

If Allow P.O. Box is turned off, a user will not be able to select this carrier if their shipping address includes “P.O. Box” or “PO Box.” If Require Phone Number is turned on, a user will not be able to place an order using this carrier unless a phone number is given for the order.
