Did You Know you can bulk import and export data to and from your portal?

This is a major time-saver. Cut out all that time spent entering and editing data in your portal item by item with the bulk import and export feature. Currently three types of data can be exported and imported in bulk on the front end (more to come): users, global profiles, and addresses.

This feature makes updating data in these three categories as easy as exporting the current data set, making the changes that are needed, then importing the data set back in. The system will automatically detect which entries are new, have been removed, or have changed upon import and allow you to update the data set appropriately.

How does it work?

You or your clients can take advantage of bulk data imports and exports by going to any of the three compatible pages in the Admin tab (Users, Global Profiles, or Address Book) and using the Import and Export buttons in the top right corner. After clicking Export, the platform will prompt you to specify what data you want to pull, then it will download the data as an Excel file. You can make changes and then import the file back into the portal.

Upon import, you’ll get a popup explaining how many entries will be deleted, added, or updated. You can import entirely new data sets as well without worrying about the format of the columns. Assigning labels to the columns of data in your file is as simple as dragging and dropping.
